Welcome to my first entry into my online journal.  Here you will find what I am doing each day.  I will link to pictures and videos that I come across.  I have in my truck a camera that is recording events in front 24/7 and make it easy to post things that I come across in my travels. BEM

Another day has past and not much was accomplished.  I did get my next load assignment and I'm heading for Denver to deliver.  I picked up my load in Tarr Heel, NC.  I got there at 11:00 MDT and ended up waiting 4 hours with the trailer in the door before they started to load the product.  Then once the trailer was loaded I scaled only to find out that I was 1700 lbs over weight so I had to plug it back in to the door so they could pull some product off to lighten things up.  Once that was all done I must have waited another 2 hours for my paperwork.  In the meantime I observed that gal that was supposed to be making up my paperwork outside talking on her cell to someone.  Then when I went in to see what the hold up was she was eating her lunch.  It's no wonder it took so long.  I now on my way and was able to cover 400 miles before my 14 hours were up.  I will detail the Hours of Service rules later.  Needless to say I'm now winding down so I can get some sleep before heading out tomorrow.  With that I bid you Goodnight.  BEM

What can I say???????  It has been two days since my last entry and not much has happened.  Although I did drive through a tornado warning area in the Kansas City, KS to Salina, KS area and didn't know I was until I was on the other side of the area.  I could see that the weather was ruff so I tuned into the weather channel on my radio and did hear the warning there.  I found out about it when I brought up a weather site on the web.  Why have the weather channels if NOAA is not going to using them in a timely manner.  I'm just glad that it was light enough for me to see what was going on around me unlike the last time that I past through there.  It was late at night the wind was blown like crazy and it even made me reduce my speed down to 20 mph.  That was a nail bitter.

Well it has been a few days.  I have to get used to making these entries on a more frequent basis. Since we last talked I pickup up a load and delivered it.  With this load I  dead headed, traveled with an empty trailer, from Denver, CO to Dodge City, KS where I picked up a new container loaded with meat heading for Japan I think.  It seems that most of the beef that is shipped overseas ends up in Japan.  They must like a good hamburger or something.  Anyway when I got there it was ready to roll but someone had put the wrong seal on the trailer in the yard so I had to wait while they fixed the paperwork.  Unfortunately these meat plants aren't the fastest in the world.  A good thing for me is that I was planned to spend the night there anyway and get a fresh start in the morning.  Once that was done I drove over to the one and only truck stop and bedded down for the night.  When I got there I found a wonderful hotspot that had a 300mps connection.  That was great and surprising given that I was in a town that didn't even have an Interstate highway connecting it but I can tell you the Internet highway was there.  As a result I was able to really put a new service that I signed up for to the test.  This service allows me to download movies to my computer, kind of the ipod equivalent for movies.  Anyway thanks to this high speed connection I was able to download 10 movie that night.
From that point on it was an uneventful journey, in fact it was to uneventful, at least as far as the drive is concerned.  I did find out that my best friend and his wife, who were expecting, had a miscarriage.  It seems that my buddy is having a harder time of it than his wife is but then again he is a guy and expressing ones feeling is not a guys strong point as all the females out there will attest to.  I hope that he is able to get through this.  I'll see them in about 4 weeks so I'll see how he is really doing then.
I said that the journey was uneventful, well after all was done and I was heading to one of C.R. Englands yards that I discovered that my alternator had died and that I was running on batteries, which in my case is not good given all that I have running in here and I had my lights on to boot.  Fortunately I was able to get to the yard before the batteries had gone down to much and get parked and turn on the generator to start charging them up again.  So here I sit waiting to get in the shop to have that replaced.
That's it for now, have a great day.
